Applying for a Place

All school admissions are co-ordinated and managed by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.

To apply for a place in the Nursery Class, Reception Class or for Secondary School please refer to the deadline dates below:

 1st September 2015 – 31st August 2016  Primary School (Reception) – September 2020  15th January 2020
 1st September 2008 – 31st August 2009  Secondary School (Year 7) – September 2020  31st October 2019

Open Morning for Prospective Reception and Nursery September 2021 Parents

If the current situation allows, we look forward to welcoming prospective families to our Nursery and Reception Open Mornings on the following dates:

Friday 9th October 2020: 10.15am – 11.30am

Friday 13th November 2020: 10.15am – 11.30am

Friday 4th December 2020: 10.15am – 11.30am

On each of the above dates, eight families are invited to meet the Head Teacher and Early Years Lead for coffee and an informal introduction to Vernon Park.  Families will then be offered a tour of our Early Years department, main school and grounds.

Applying for school places at other times of the year

If you live in Stockport, all applications for school places must be made to Stockport Council’s Admissions Support and Advice Team, even if the school you are applying for is outside Stockport.   The Admissions Support and Advice Team will liaise with other Local Authorities to find out whether or not a place is available.

If the application is linked to a change of address you must provide documentary evidence, this could be in the form of a solicitor’s letter, Council Tax or tenancy agreement.   The Council reserves the right to seek further information if necessary.   For more information on school admissions please refer to the Stockport Council website.  (Click here)
